Brigadieros!

How much do you know about Brazilian food beyond Churrasco, or Brazilian BBQ? Ever heard of Pastel? Sopa de Fubá? Brigadieros? Coxinhas? Neither had I until recently. But, my curiosity of these unfamiliar foods has gotten the better of me and I am determined to make the exotic, familiar.

First up, Brigadieros, a truffle-like, chewy, chocolate bon bon rolled in chocolate sprinkles or another variety of toppings.

396g (1-14oz can) Sweetened Condensed Milk

15g Butter

18G Unsweetend Cocoa Powder

1 Pinch of Salt

Combine all the ingredients in a small pot. Heat on medium high heat and whisk continuously until the mixture becomes thick and you can see the bottom of the pan while stirring, about 5-10 minutes. Remove from the heat and scrape out the mixture into a container to cool. Once cool, scoop out small portions onto parchment paper. Butter your hands and roll the portions between your palms to form balls. Roll in chocolate sprinkles, or coconut, nuts, or anything else you like. Enjoy.

  1. The best ever! But calls "brigadeiros". Now you should try coxinha of chicken. You'll die!
